An Ice Cream Vendor in the Forest

" An Ice Cream Vendor in the Forest" originated from the hand-cranked instrument used by the ice cream vendor in the Isan mountain area of Thailand. In the 1990s, the farmer known as"ancestor" accidentally heard the sound while living in the Isan region.

Years later, "ancestor" tried to recreate the memory of sound that echoed in the rainy season forest by using various natural and artificial materials collected in the Hengchun area, Taiwan. The instrument version in the collection of the Huesio Geological Museum was made of wood, stone, and nylon rope. It was purchased by a member of the "NO" online forum at the flea market on Zhonghua Road, Kaohsiung in 1998. in 2023, it was donated to the Huesio Geological Museum and accepted into its permanent collection.
