ILLUMINATION /

“Illuminating the Collections” is a long term film production project, while also being a ritual through which items are added to the Museum’s collection. The centers around the residents of Huesio Village “illuminating” the various collection items of the Museum. Through the process of “illumination”, which often extends from late nights to the break of dawn, the Museum's days and nights are not only recorded, but also the interaction of each individual’s state of life and the material world. With the addition of each item to the Museum's collection, the film’s length also increases. As a film production project, it is an ever scaling and expanding database of the Huesio Geological Museum, carefully collecting every movie clip, photograph, conversation, letter, memo, and draft produced by the villagers during the process of “illumination”.
